Lakeside Knight News…

Food Preparation- students are completing a buying paper about a small electric appliance of their choice. Following their research paper they will each choose a recipe to prepare and demonstrate to the rest of their classmates.  They will also create a poster to go along with their presentation.  They will need to create a market order and a plan sheet in advance of their class demonstration.  Students in this class are Tanner B, Tanner C., Tam, Martina, Sara, Courtney, Ryan, Dustin and Noah.

 

Human Growth & Development- students have been interviewing people between the ages of 20 and 90. They are learning about the various aspects of life that a person deals with socially, emotionally, physically and mentally.  It has been interesting to see what different people deal with in their lives

 

 

FCCLA- FCCLA hosted a soup supper on Feb. 16 and celebrated FCCLA week with secret pals – where members tried to surprise their pal with a fun gift.  Enjoying lunch together and decorating sugar cookies concluded the week.  Previously FCCLA along with Rock Hills sold 388 Think Pink shirts.  Money raised was sent to the Kay Yow Breast Cancer Research Fund. 

            Members also traveled to District STAR events at Stockton.  Receiving a silver rating were Jessica Arnoldy & McKenzie Wiles with their nutrition project for children.  Also receiving a silver award was Amy Stanfield with her Chapter Showcase Project. Kristin Wagner & Jenny Koops served as room monitors and timers.

            District Elections were held at Smith Center.  Outgoing District B Secretary Hannah Renken installed Audrey Doane who will serve as District B secretary for the 2010-2011 school year.  Voting delegates were Kristin Wagner and Jenny Koops.

LHS Student Council Donor Express Blood Drive

 

Did you know that every two seconds someone needs blood? A donor is eligible to donate blood every 56 days. Sign up for your appointment to save a life. This event will take place in the LHS gym, Friday March 27, sponsored by the LHS Student Council.  The sign up sheet will on the bulletin board by the office.  Students who are 16 may donate blood if they have completed a parental consent form. This form is available at www.bloodgiveslife.org or from Mrs. Warner.  All other donors are needed and welcome to sign up also.
